Impressions from Croatia – Part 3

The third part of the series about Croatia. If you have missed the other parts, just click here.

The marina of Baska on the island Krk is very beautiful (albeit quite touristy).
You have different views here, in the picture above mountains in the background.

When the sun begins to set, people pretty up for the night, so for a photographer this is a good time to get some nice shots.
This is the marina when you turn around and look towards the bay:

Many photographers like the “blue hour”:

This long-time exposure above shows an interesting contrast. On the one hand, people at right which are promenading (you can see the traces they leave with the motion blur), and at left people who sit still and just watch everything.

However, Krk has a lot more to offer than beautiful marinas and beaches or a great nightlife.

If you are into hiking, you have possibilities, too.

And of course the watersports activities…

Impressions from Croatia – Part 2

This is part 2 from my impressions from Croatia.
Today I focus on the city of Krk which has a nice old quarter as you can see.

There are stone walls with nice flowers at various places.

The alleys abound with shops and cosy restaurants.

And of course you should not miss the marina when you visit this town.

There will be a third and probably final part in the next weeks, hope you enjoyed this one.

Impressions from Croatia – Part 1

It’s getting colder here, so my longing for sun and everything summer gets stronger…
As I said in another post some time ago, I will share some impressions from my 2017 holiday in Croatia in the coming weeks.
Please don’t consider this as a comprehensive travel report (remember this is not a travel blog), just some random photographic impressions.
Today the focus is on the beautiful city of Baska on the island Krk.

A lot of tourism though, it’s not an insider tip anymore, I’m afraid.
Still Krk has a lot to offer besides beautiful beaches and the clearest water you can imagine.

I took this series on our vacation to Croatia this summer.
To be honest, this is one of those cases where you cannot entirely “forget the camera”, as you need one which offers decent continuous shooting capabilities.
